EXTENSION OF THE ABSTRACT DEADLINE UNTIL 22nd APRIL 2011

RUTHERFORD CENTENNIAL CONFERENCE on NUCLEAR PHYSICS

The University of Manchester Manchester UK 8th -- 12th August 2011

We have become aware of a variety of issues that prevented some members
of the international nuclear physics community submitting abstracts by
our original deadline in March.

We have decided to extend the deadline until 22nd APRIL 2011 to allow as
many people as possible to contribute to the conference program.

The conference will mark one hundred years of the atomic nucleus by
addressing the wide range of current topics characterizing modern
nuclear physics, including nuclear structure and astrophysics, hadron
structure and spectroscopy, weak interactions and relativistic heavy-ion
collisions.

We would be pleased to receive abstracts by the 22nd April on any of
these areas for inclusion in the conference program.

Details of abstract submission can be found at:
http://rutherford.iop.org

Along with other information about the conference, which will be updated
as plans are confirmed.

We are also pleased to announce that an exhibition will be held at the
Manchester Museum of Science and Industry to celebrate the Rutherford
centenary from Aug-Oct 2011.

The opening will coincide with the conference and it is planned to show
historic pieces of equipment and papers associated with Rutherford's
time in Manchester. A reception is planned at the Museum for conference
delegates, supported by CANBERRA.

With best wishes,

The UK Organizing Committee
