Jefferson Lab is open today. The lab will CLOSE on Saturday at noon and remain closed through Sunday. ONLY essential JLab personnel are permitted at the lab on Sunday to assess conditions. The Rattley Road gate (between the SURA Residence Facility and the lab) will be shut while the lab is closed; only the main entrance at Onnes Drive will remain open.

All requested Hurricane Preparedness Condition checklists must be completed by noon today. 

Check with your supervisor or JLab Emergency Manager Tina Menefee (menefee at jlab.org or call ext 5490) if you have questions or need more information.

Updated General Preparations EVERYONE is asked to complete:

- All golf carts that don't have a shelter must be taken to the Experimental Staging Building, #23, on the Accelerator Site near the entrance to Hall D between 10 a.m. and noon today. A ride can be provided back to your shop or office.  If possible, put your golf cart charger unit and charger hut into the golf cart when taking it to shelter.
If you are unable to get your golf cart to Building 23, please contact Manny at 876-1745 or Joe at 528-7158 this morning.

- Before leaving today, turn off and unplug your computer and turn off and unplug your uninterruptible power supply.  Also, turn off and unplug any office appliances.

- Turn off and unplug from the wall printers and copiers.

- Housekeeping today will be extremely limited; put food and wet waste items in kitchenette and restroom waste receptacles.

- Lab staff living in low-lying areas asked about parking personal vehicles at the lab during the storm. Individuals wishing to do this are asked to park their vehicles in the ARC parking lot. Use the parking lots away from the tall trees. If you park a personal vehicle at the lab, let Mike Lewellen, lewellen at jlab.org ,  know, and cc Jennifer Barnett, jbarnett at jlab.org 


Recovery and Return to Work (JLab Status)
Lab management anticipates Monday, Aug. 29, being a work day. However, if the situation should change, please use the communication tools below to determine the JLab work status. Status updates should begin to be posted Sunday afternoon.
- Call (757) 269-7100 or (757) 234-6236 for recorded information.
- Visit the Jefferson Lab website: www.jlab.org or the JLab status page at: http://status.jlab.org 
- Check your JLab email account and JLab pager
- Check your home-phone voicemail: JLab may send a recorded message to your JLab-registered home phone number via a service called Connect.Gov.
- Tune in to the following television stations to check the closing and delayed opening announcements. Public Affairs cannot guarantee the accuracy of these postings.

- If you are still unsure of the lab's reporting status, check with your immediate supervisor.
 
Conditions could vary significantly across the region; check the status of Jefferson Lab BEFORE you head to work. If you feel conditions prevent you from safely getting to work, please use your discretion and consult your supervisor.
