Jefferson Lab staff and users are invited to take a self-paced tour of
the new Hall D Counting House and Experimental Hall on *Wednesday, Jan.
11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.* This complex is an important part of the
lab's 12 GeV Upgrade project. You may arrive and depart at any time
during that four-hour block.

If you want to take advantage of this unique opportunity to see the
lab's newest experimental hall, you will need a working JLab badge and
have completed ES&H Orientation (SAF100) and General Employee
Radiological Training (GERT - SAF800) so that you can get onto the
Accelerator Site.

You may walk or drive onto the Accelerator Site. If you drive, you will
be able to park in any marked parking spot on the Accelerator Site; the
most convenient parking will be parallel parking along the North Linac
and angle parking around Building 23, the Experimental Staging Building.
>From there you will have a short walk up Bethe Drive to the Hall D
complex. (See map at this memo link:
http://wwwold.jlab.org/memo/2012_invite_to_hall_D.html )

Scientists and technical staff will be available to talk about their
work and to answer your questions.

If you do not have GERT (or Radiation Worker I or RW II), please budget
30-45 minutes for the training, and plan to take the course by Monday,
Jan. 9.

*If you cannot complete SAF800 by Jan. 9 and want to attend the open
house, please contact Michelle Lechman, Public Affairs, at
lechman at jlab.org by 5 p.m. today (Wednesday, Jan. 4).*

All non-GERT or Rad Worker trained employees must register with Public
Affairs by Jan. 4, 2012, in order to attend the Hall D Open House
(reservations for transport and escorts).

Questions or concerns can be sent to Michelle @ lechman at jlab.org.

GERT (SAF800) and ES&H Orientation (SAF100) are available on the
Training and Performance webpage at:
http://wwwold.jlab.org/div_dept/train/webbasedtraining.html
