CNI Maintenance Period Tuesday, Feb. 18, 5-10 p.m.
The IT Division's CNI group will hold a systems and network maintenance period on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 5-10 p.m. During this time, work will be performed on the Zimbra mail system, which may cause some interruptions to service as the proxy servers are upgraded. Updated certificates will be installed on www.jlab.org, so there may be a brief outage while the certificate is installed and the system is rebooted. Also, there will be an update to the Cisco IP phones that may cause the screen to flash, but no active calls will be affected. A Firefox and Thunderbird update will be released to all Windows systems, as well as a flash plugin update. All MIS applications will be down while patches are applied to the backend servers and rebooted. Finally, patches will be released to all Windows and Linux systems. Plan on rebooting your system on the Thursday or Friday following CNI Maintenance. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, contact the IT Division Helpdesk, x7155.

Computer User Audit Begins Next Week
The annual Computer User Account Audit will begin on Monday, Feb. 17. If you sponsor someone with a computer user account at Jefferson Lab, you will receive an email on Feb. 17 with information on how to complete your user audit. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this audit, contact Jessica A. Perry, x7262.
