CNI Systems Maintenance Period Set for Jan. 20, 5-7 p.m. 
The IT Division's CNI group is planning a Systems Maintenance Period for Tuesday , Jan. 20, 5-7 p.m. During this time, Windows and Linux patches will be released to all desktops and servers onsite. Plan to reboot your desktop system when requested after the maintenance is complete,but no later than Friday , Jan. 23. This reboot will finalize the patch installation. Internet Explorer Update Set for Tonight to Fix Zimbra Web Client Issue 
Recently, some users have reported problems using the Zimbra email web interface with Internet Explorer. Normally, the Zimbra server presents an (ajax-based) interface that has a lot of nice features. Recent versions of Internet Explorer may try to view the site in "Compatibility View" mode, which causes the Zimbra server to present only the limited, html-only interface. 

To correct this problem, the Computer Center will deliver a configuration change overnight tonight ( Wednesday , Jan. 14) to Jefferson Lab Windows systems that will disable "Compatibility View" for all Jefferson Lab websites. If your Windows system is connected to the Jefferson Lab network, all you need to do is restart Internet Explorer tomorrow morning to receive this updated configuration. 

This change will not affect how you view non-Jefferson Lab sites. Since this configuration change applies to all Jefferson Lab websites, not just the Zimbra server, there is a possibility that it may cause problems elsewhere. If you have problems with other sites, you may need to configure IE to use "Compatibility View" only for those sites. For instructions on adding specific websites to the "Compatibility View" list, and for more information on this issue, see https://cc.jlab.org/IECompatView . Annual Travel Workshops for Travel Coordinators and Travelers 
The Annual Travel Workshop training sessions will be held during the month of February. Travel Coordinators are expected to attend a general session and all of the associated mini-workshops. Two full sets of workshops are being offered. For the schedule of dates, times and locations, visit the Travel webpage or see the At-A-Glance calendar entries. In addition, a Workshop for Travelers is scheduled for Feb. 25, 9:30-11 a.m. in CEBAF Center room F113. Red Cross Blood Drive Scheduled for Tuesday , Jan. 27 
The next American Red Cross Blood Drive will take place Tuesday , Jan. 27, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in CEBAF Center room F113. New and repeat donors are encouraged to attend. Jefferson Lab Dog Training Club 2015 Classes Scheduled 
Is your New Year's Resolution to reduce tension (at least in your dog's leash)? Come join the Jefferson Lab Dog Training Club for their kick-off meeting for the new year! The meeting will be held in the lobby of the Support Service Center on Monday , Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. Rules for dog club participation will be reviewed, so no dogs at this first meeting. Classes for the 2015 Canine Good Citizen/Therapy Dog International session will begin on the following Tuesday , Feb. 17. TIAA-CREF will be offering additional Individual Counseling Sessions in the coming months. Sessions will be offered on Jan. 15, Feb. 19, March 11 , March 12 , April 16 and May 14 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. in Support Service Center room 41a.
