Lab Annual Electricity Consumption Reduction Test Set for June 23
Jefferson Lab is again participating in the interruptible electrical load program. This demand-side energy management helps to ensure that periods of tight electricity supply on the grid don't turn into brown outs or power outages. To qualify for the program, the lab must participate in the annual test, which will take place the afternoon of Thursday, June 23. Those individuals/groups using systems that are electrically power intensive, such as DC power supplies, operations in the Test Lab VTA (vertical test area) or cavity test areas, should schedule their operations such that these operations do not occur during the 1:45-3:15 p.m. test period on June 23.
