(*Deadline of application September 26th, 2016)

We are pleased to announce that the SNP School 2016 will take place on
the campus of Tohoku University, Sendai from November 18th to 20th,
2016.
This is the fifth one of a series of SNP schools, which were held in
2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 in both Tokai (J-PARC) and Sendai (Tohoku
University).

The web page of the previous school (SNP School 2015) is
http://lambda.phys.tohoku.ac.jp/snpsc2015/.

This year, the school is organized as a pre-conference event of
international symposia; the International Symposium on Neutron Star
Matter (NSMAT2016, November 21-24) and Asian Nuclear Physics
Association Symposium (ANPhA2016, November 24-25), both held at the
same venue as SNP School 2106.

We encourage young scientists who intend to participate in NSMAT2016
and ANPhA2016 to join the SNP School 2016 as well and to present their
research activities at the young researchers’ session.

The school will have several lectures and topical talks on strangeness
nuclear physics as well as hadron physics in general, which are
expected to play central roles in the 21st century nuclear physics
research at accelerator facilities for hadron beams such as J-PARC
(Japan), GSI and FAIR (Germany) and for electron beams as CEBAF at
Jefferson Lab (USA), MAMI-C at Mainz University (Germany) and ELPH at
Tohoku University (Japan) etc. as well as for heavy ion colliders such
as RHIC at BNL (USA) and LHC at CERN.

Lectures by leading physicists will overview related subjects both
from experiment and theory, and topical talks on recent progress and
future prospects of the fields will be also given. The tour to visit
accelerator facility of ELPH-Tohoku is planned as a part of the
school. In addition, the school incorporates a “young researchers’
session” to give to young participants a chance of presentations.
We encourage you to present your research activities in this session
as well as to enjoy the lectures.

Details of the SNP School 2016 will be announced later and on the web.

Best regards,
    Satoshi N. Nakamura
    Chair of SNP School 2016
