Two-Factor Authentication Cryptocard System Outage on Thursday Evening
There will be an outage of the Cryptocard (Safenet) tokens on Thursday, Dec. 1, starting at 5:30 p.m., in an effort to clean up some dependencies on old hardware. The one-time password (OTP) tokens, as well as the cell phone MP-1 tokens, will not work for authentication starting at 5:30 p.m. All tokens will start working again no later than 6:30 p.m. If you believe you will need to log in to a Linux system between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. on Thursday that requires you to use your OTP token, plan to log in prior to 5:30 p.m. If you have any questions or concerns, contact the IT Division Helpdesk at helpdesk at jlab.org or x7155.
