Lab Director Hugh Montgomery and the D&I Council are asking for your input on a survey to assess awareness of the value of diversity and inclusion following the last year of effort in this area at Jefferson Lab. Jefferson Lab Fire Protection Manager Earns Kudos for Advice in Extinguishing Terrorist-Set Blaze 
Ed Douberly, Jefferson Lab’s Fire Protection and Access Control manager, recently received a letter from the U.S. State Dept. extending its deep appreciation for firefighting advice Douberly provided to help extinguish a dangerous sulfur fire set by ISIL terrorists in Mishraq, Iraq. Douberly drew from his years of experience and knowledge to provide advice critical to safely extinguishing the blaze and keeping coalition forces out of harm's way while they battled the fire. Steps to Make Sure You Get Jefferson Lab Severe Weather Status Notices 
You can sign up to receive text messages regarding severe weather advisories, laboratory closing and delayed opening notices to your mobile phone or have voice messages delivered right to you mobile or home phone in the event of a delayed laboratory opening or a closure due to unplanned events. Place Orders by Nov. 18 at Quark Cafe for Thanksgiving Desserts 
The Quark Cafe is taking Thanksgiving dessert orders now through Nov. 18. Selections include pumpkin, southern pecan, sweet potato and French silk pies and pumpkin cheesecake. The deadline for orders is 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18. Order forms are available in the cafeteria and include the prices, pick up date/time options and handling instructions. Orders must be picked up and paid for on Nov. 22, 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m., or on Nov. 23, 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. 

JAG Fall Food Drive Underway 
The Jefferson Lab Activities Group has positioned food drive donation drop boxes at several locations around the lab. Unopened, canned or boxed, nonperishable food items may be put into the boxes (no glass). All donations will be collected on Friday, Nov. 18, for delivery to the Peninsula Food Bank. Food donation drop boxes are in the ARC, SSC, CEBAF Center, and TED lobbies. If you have questions about the food drive, contact Dan Young at dyoung at jlab.org.
