Today! Free Health Screenings Offered by Optima Health 
Optima Health is offering free and confidential health screenings at Jefferson Lab today until 1 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome! The 10-minute screenings will take place in CEBAF Center room F113. At this screening, you will learn more about blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes risk, Body Mass Index, tobacco cessation, and the benefits of regular physical activity. This free service is open to Jefferson Lab employees, as well as Users and subcontractors. 

Jefferson Lab Prepares for 2017 Hurricane Season: June 1-Nov. 30 
The National Weather Service has determined “Hurricane Season” to be June 1 through Nov. 30. The forecast for the 2017 Atlantic Basin Hurricane Season predicts 11 named storms and four hurricanes. Jefferson Lab participates in observing this season by elevating its preparedness level to Hurricane Preparedness Condition 1 (HPC-1) on June 1. The Emergency Management Team will inform the laboratory community if there is any reason to elevate the lab's preparedness level. Jefferson Lab to Test Tornado Warning Siren at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 2 
Jefferson Lab's tornado warning siren will undergo its monthly operational test at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 2. Don't respond to the siren; this is a test of the siren system and not a personnel response exercise. Individuals planning to be in the Central Materials Storage Area (where the siren is located) while the test is taking place must have with them and wear two layers of hearing protection. 

2017 Outstanding Nuclear Physicist Prize Winners Announced 
JSA Named Charles Perdrisat and Charles Sinclair as Co-Recipients of the 2017 Outstanding Nuclear Physicist Prize. The prize went to Charles Perdrisat for his pioneering implementation of the polarization transfer technique to determine proton elastic form factors and to Charles Sinclair for his crucial development of polarized electron beam technology, which made such measurements, and many others, possible. Extech Recalls Digital Clamp Meters Due to Electrocution Hazard 
Extech is recalling digital clamp meters model numbers EX650, EX655, MA160, MA61, and MA63. These models are all AC/DC clamp meters, which are electrical testing devices that measure AC/DC voltage, resistance, capacitance, frequency, temperature, continuity, and diode. Serial numbers in the following format are included in the recall: R15XXXXXXX to R17XXXXXXX. Only serial numbers in this range are included in the recall. The “EXTECH” logo and the model number are printed on the front of the unit and the serial number on the back. The digital clamp meters are green and orange. Run-A-Round Results and T-shirt Distribution and Ordering 
Jefferson Lab’s 32nd annual Run-A-Round on May 17 featured nearly 550 registrants with 400 finishing the run/walk. Last Day: JSA Minority/Female Undergraduate Research Assistantship Taking Nominations 
Jefferson Lab is seeking nominations of minority or female undergraduate physics students from accredited universities for a research assistantship for the 2017-2018 academic year. The nomination deadline is Wednesday, May 31. This project is supported by the JSA Initiatives Fund program.
