Pressure systems are everywhere, from underground steam pipes throughout 
a city, to combustion engines in cars and even in most of the equipment 
at Jefferson Lab. Because such systems are ubiquitous at the laboratory,

*COMPUTING*
*Oracle Java JDK support ending*
Oracle has announced that they will begin charging for security updates 
to Oracle Java starting January 1, 2019.  In addition, Redhat has 
announced that they will no longer provide Oracle Java updates starting 
on December 1, 2018.  Both Oracle and Redhat are recommending that Java 
developers move to OpenJDK for development.  Please see

*JLab Office 365 Migration Expanding -- Outlook for Email*
The IT Division has begun migrating some users to Office 365 Outlook app 
for email in order to more fully document and test the new email and 
calendar environment. Over the Christmas Shutdown, all Zimbra users will 
have their email, calendar, tasks, and contacts migrated to Office 365. 
In the meantime, people that would like to test the Outlook and Outlook 
Web environment and provide constructive feedback, are asked to contact 
the IT Division by emailing helpdesk at jlab.org 
<mailto:helpdesk at jlab.org>. Those testing the environment must be 
willing to have all email copied to Office365, but continue to use 
Zimbra for all calendar activities. If you have any questions or

*GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS*
*General Wellness Lunch and Learn, September 5*
The Human Resources Department will host a “lunch and learn” health and 
wellness workshop onsite on Wednesday, September 5, from noon to 1 p.m.  
A registered dietitian and nutritionist from Optima Health will lead a 
discussion covering nutrition education, fitness activities, weight loss 
resources, and intervention programs to assistance with stress 
reduction. All JLab employees are welcome to attend this free workshop 
to jump start their health & wellness journey. For more information, see

*JAG Third Annual Iron Brew Competition - Save the Date*
JAG is calling all Jefferson Lab home-brewers to enter the third annual 
Iron Brew Competition, which will be taking place at this years fall 
Tailgate Party, scheduled for October 24. Brewers will need to provide a 
minimum of 72 ounces (standard six-pack) of their best crowd-pleaser for 
judging, and a way to keep it cold. The beers will be judged by a 
popular vote using a ticketing system. Brew teams may enter up to two 
beers and entries are not limited to any style or ingredient. For more
