Jefferson Lab Smoking Policy
Jefferson Lab’s Smoking Policy is published in the Jefferson Lab Administrative Manual Section 208.07 . This is a reminder that smoking is not allowed in any government, JSA or Jefferson Lab owned vehicle, cart or other material handling equipment, on or off site; inside buildings or within 50 feet of entrances, operable windows or outdoor air intakes. Smoke shacks are available at appropriate distances for those who participate in this activity. If you do smoke, do not throw cigarette butts on the ground; cigarette receptacles are available in the smoke shacks for cigarette disposal. Managers and supervisors are responsible for implementing this policy in their work areas. Ensure all staff, users and visitors are aware of and in compliance with this policy. An ISM Poster regarding this topic is now available online.
GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
DOE Email Log
Our contract with the Department of Energy, as well as good business practice, requires that Jefferson Science Associates maintains a record of formal communications between JSA and the DOE. Formal communication is any product or notification required by the contract, policy or regulation or in response to DOE request for information via official channels. To meet this requirement, all JSA employees who send formal communications to DOE should include doelog at jlab.org in the carbon copy ("CC:") field of each transmittal email to the DOE. This simple step enables JSA to satisfy this record-keeping responsibility with minimum additional effort. If you need further information or clarification on this requirement, contact Mike Maier .
Lost Something? Check the Lost & Found!
The Jefferson Lab Lost & Found collection can be found at the CEBAF Center Reception Desk. If you’ve lost or misplaced any item over the last few months, visit the desk to see if the item has been turned in. A range of items are currently in the collection: umbrellas, jackets, earrings and glasses. All older items currently in the Lost & Found will be disposed of on Friday, June 22 . To see what is in the Lost & Found, visit the CEBAF Center Reception Desk during normal business hours, Monday through Friday .
World Culture Day Display Goes on the Road
In celebration of World Culture Day, the Diversity & Inclusion Council is building a visual map that depicts our collective hometowns. All members of the Jefferson Lab community are invited to contribute to the map, which is now traveling around the campus. You can visit the map in these locations: MCC Control Room until June 8 ; ESH&Q Bldg. Lobby, June 8 -13; and Support Service Center Lobby, June 13 -15. If you have any questions about Jefferson Lab's World Culture Day activity, contact dcouncil at jlab.org.
