ESH&Q
Emergency Response Exercise
The Jefferson Lab Emergency Management Team plans to conduct its annual emergency response exercise on June 19 , 9 a.m.-noon, on the Jefferson Lab campus. During the exercise, small areas around the lab campus will be roped off and marked with informational materials relevant to the drill, which may include signs, posters and props. Members of the Jefferson Lab community are asked to leave these items as they are found and to avoid these areas should they come across them during the course of their duties. Portions of the exercise will take place outside, so if inclement weather is forecast, the exercise may be postponed to June 20 . For general information about this annual exercise, contact Tina Menefee, x5490.

THEORETICAL AND COMPUTATIONAL PHYSICS
A new comprehensive global analysis has been performed of all reactions that are not dominated by pion or Pomeron exchange at high energies. The study finds that at beam energies greater than 5 GeV, all processes can be viewed as an independent fragmentation of the beam and the target, with the beam fragmentation dominated by the production and decays of meson resonances.

ENGINEERING
SAF130A Pressure System Awareness Training Offered
A Pressure System Awareness Training Class has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 19 , at 1:30 p.m. in CEBAF Center, room F224-225. The course will cover basic considerations and provide insight into the required process for the design, fabrication, testing, inspection, maintenance, repair and operation of pressure systems. It will be led by Engineering Division Manager, Will Oren. This course may be required training for some staff, but is open to all staff with an interest in this information. Individuals who might benefit from the training include operators and supervisors of technicians working on pressure systems. To attend, register for this class in Jefferson Lab's Learning Management System .

COMPUTING
IT Division Maintenance Period Set for June 19 , 5-10 p.m.
The IT Division has scheduled a maintenance period starting on June 19 at 5 p.m. During this time, staff members plan to upgrade the software on some central fileservers; this may result in some Windows systems being disconnected from the J, K, L, M and O drives for a few minutes (less than five) during the upgrade process. Windows systems will automatically reconnect once the system is back up. Updates will be released to core Common User Environment software, such as Firefox and Thunderbird. Windows and Linux patches will be released to all centrally managed desktops and servers. Servers will be rebooted overnight to finalize patch installations, which will result in some services being unavailable for a short time during the reboot. Finally, plan on rebooting your Windows or Linux desktop by the end of the week in order to finalize these patch installations. If you have any questions or concerns about this maintenance, contact the IT Division Help Desk at helpdesk at jlab.org or x7155.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Last Chance: ”Inclusion Insights" Lunch & Learn Pizza Session
Inclusion Insights is a powerful video presentation featuring Steve Robbins, the innovative speaker/socio-scientist storyteller who coined the phrase “Unintentional Intolerance.” Robbins has a resonating style and unique framework for addressing diversity and inclusion. Did we mention he's also very funny? Members of the Diversity & Inclusion Council will facilitate one final small group lunchtime pizza session that will feature short video presentations by Robbins and group discussion. Advance signup is encouraged but not required. Space is limited, so sign up today for the June 20 session in the Learning Management System. It will be held in CEBAF Center room F226, 11:30 a.m.-1p.m. Pizza will be provided, and participants are encouraged to bring their own beverage.

Jefferson Lab Mourns Loss of Colleague Dick Wilson
Richard “Dick” Wilson, Mallinckrodt Professor of Physics Emeritus at Harvard University, died on May 19 , 2018, in Needham, Mass. Dick was involved in the parity-violation experiments carried out in Jefferson Lab’s Experimental Hall A. For a full obituary, see the announcement written by his children and posted on the Fermilab website .
