THEORETICAL AND COMPUTATIONAL PHYSICS 
A new paper discusses the relation of moments of nucleon parton distribution functions (PDFs) to matrix elements of non-local operators computed in lattice QCD. A procedure is presented from which moments of PDFs with a well-defined continuum limit can be obtained. Using this procedure, the lowest two PDF moments are extracted from recent lattice QCD data and are found to be in agreement with moments obtained through traditional approaches that use local twist-2 matrix elements of the nucleon.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS 
Tornado Warning Siren Test Set for Friday 
Jefferson Lab's tornado warning siren will undergo its monthly operational test at 10:30 a.m. on Friday , Sept. 7. Individuals planning to be in the Central Materials Storage Area (where the siren is located) while the test is taking place must have with them and wear two layers of hearing protection.
