Jefferson Lab Hosts
Summer Science Poster Session
On Aug. 2, the lab will host a poster session featuring projects and research conducted on campus by college undergraduates. To learn more about the poster session, click here (https://www.jlab.org/news/releases/media-advisory-jefferson-lab-summer-science-poster-session-0) .
DOUBLE POLARIZATION OBSERVABLES IN PENTAQUARK PHOTOPRODUCTION
Given the strong interest triggered by the recent LHCb discovery of pentaquark resonances, the Joint Physics Analysis Center (JPAC) Collaboration has performed a new calculation (https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__arxiv.org_abs_1907.09393&d=DwIFaQ&c=CJqEzB1piLOyyvZjb8YUQw&r=huYtXgHboamQCcudwMT5oQ&m=ly5llOBPVHkQUQvVemVlb7-ymiqKd0cBbjwiOscoFNo&s=rw8V5hCf2Yxx_FW1TiHx-laEzuOMkFiiTnOmrGI0nyU&e= ) of the ratios of doubly polarized cross sections for J/Ψ photoproduction. These results should serve as a benchmark for the SBS experiment at Jefferson Lab, which will measure these observables. This experiment and its proper theoretical interpretation should shed light into the nature of pentaquark states.

PAC CLOSEOUT AUG. 1
The Program Advisory Committee will hold a recap session open to the lab community. During the recap session, results from the meeting, including PAC's guidance on the proposals presented, will be shared. The closeout meeting will take place Thursday, Aug. 1, from 12 - 12:30 p.m. in the CEBAF Center auditorium.

DAILY TIMEKEEPING REMINDER
All employees are responsible for completing their timesheet on a daily basis. If you opt to keep your time offline, your paper timesheet must match what is recorded in the online timekeeping system. Your paper timesheet must also be made available for an auditor to review at any time. Please do not record time until after you have completed the work. Estimating time or entering time prior to completing the work is not permitted without prior authorization from the Finance Department. For questions, please contact Matt Krug (mailto:mkrug at jlab.org) at x7120.

FEDS FEED FAMILIES JULY 29 - AUG. 9
The DOE's Feds Feed Families program has officially kicked off! Once again, the Thomas Jefferson Site Office will be collecting nonperishable food donations to support the program. Feds Feed Families was created to help food banks and pantries stay stocked during summer months when they traditionally see a decrease in donations and an increase in need. There is no expectation of Jefferson Lab employee participation in this program, although anyone who wishes to donate may do so. A food donation box will be staged in the CEBAF Center main lobby. To view the list of requested items, click here (https://www.jlab.org/memo/feds-feed-families-now-accepting-donations) .

TORNADO SIREN TEST AUG. 2
The monthly tornado warning siren test will occur Friday, Aug 2., at 10:30 a.m. Individuals planning to be in the Central Materials Storage Area (where the siren is located) while the test is taking place must have with them and wear two layers of hearing protection. There is no need to take cover if you hear the test.
