The meeting is jointly hosted by University of North Carolina-Wilmington and Triangle Universities Nuclear Laboratory (TUNL). In addition to numerous exciting physics sessions, we will also have special sessions celebrating 35 years of physics at Jefferson Laboratory (JLab); and discussions on physics advocacy, education, national security, and physics at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

At its annual meetings, SESAPS recognizes individuals in three areas of distinction in the southeast by bestowing the Francis G. Slack, George B. Pegram, and Jesse W. Beams Awards. The Slack Award was created to honor Excellence in Service to Physics in the Southeast. The Pegram Award, first awarded in 1971, was created to honor "Excellence in the Teaching of Physics in the Southeast." The Beams Research Award, first presented in 1973, was established to recognize especially significant or meritorious research in physics.

Undergraduate presenters will have the chance to compete for a prize for best oral or poster presentations. Limited travel support is available for students (see website for details).
