This summer school is aimed at advance graduate students and postdocs working in theoretical condensed matter physics, quantum field theory, theoretical quantum information science, theoretical atomic/molecular/optical physics, and related areas.

It will focus on highly entangled states of quantum matter (Ultra Quantum Matter - UQM) that go beyond the Landau paradigm of classical orders.  Through a combination of pedagogical lecture series and research talks, advanced graduate students and postdocs will be introduced to the forefront of UQM research, with a broad scope ranging from fundamental characterization and classification to designs for realization and testing of UQM in the lab. Topics will include classifying and characterizing topological and fracton matter, quantum field theory dualities and other approaches to strongly coupled gapless phases, quantum information perspectives and related numerical tools, and overviews of novel platforms to realize and probe highly entangled quantum states in the laboratory.

This program cuts across traditional sub-disciplines of theoretical physics, and the school will feature talks from experts in condensed matter physics, high energy physics, quantum information and atomic physics.
