SUBJECT: CrowdStrike Causing Windows Outage

On Thursday afternoon/evening, CrowdStrike updates caused some Windows hosts to crash. CrowdStrike is a cybersecurity tool deployed on JLab systems.  CrowdStrike is aware of the issue and has published remediation steps, in addition to a fix.

The outage has impacted numerous hosts at Jlab, but core services still functional.  Users may experience random outages.  CST is working to keep services stable and apply the recommended fixes.

Contact the CST Help Desk if your system is impacted.  Further updates will be provided as more details are known.
