CEU Applications Are Now Available

All undergraduate students who have participated in nuclear science research are invited to apply. Students will present research posters and participate in several Conference Experience for Undergraduates (CEU) and conference-related events. Acceptance to the program is competitive as spots are limited. Please be aware that the application does not guarantee acceptance to the program.

CEU Program
The number of accepted students is limited; therefore, application to the program does not guarantee acceptance into the program. There are multiple ways undergraduate students can participate in the DNP/CEU program:

  1.  Abstract category 15 (Deadline: Aug 1) is the traditional CEU Poster Session. Acceptance into the poster session is competitive as space is limited. If accepted, the student will receive a lodging award in a CEU room. Travel awards and registration waivers might be granted to several of the top-qualifying students. This is the only category in which funding will be allocated.

  2.  Abstract category 16 (Deadline: Aug 1) is a regular DNP oral presentation titled “Undergraduate Research”. Any undergraduate student may apply to this category without applying to the CEU program.

  3.  All other DNP presentation categories (Deadline: July 8).

  4.  Note: Students who are not selected for a poster will be given the opportunity to present in category 16 (oral presentation).

To Student Advisors: If you are mentoring a student in research, please make sure to guide them through their abstract submission and CEU application processes. They must first join the APS before submitting their abstract via the portal. To receive the free student membership, APS needs time to verify student status. Please make sure this is done in advance, as membership fees will not be reimbursed. APS poster abstract submission does not guarantee a poster presentation. Students must also apply to the CEU program once they have submitted their abstract. The selection process is competitive, especially this year, as the CEU is supported by federal funds. Please make sure that the student indicates any of the conference expenses that will be supported by their research group, University, Department, etc., during their application process. Do NOT make travel plans for students or pay their registration fee until they have received notification of acceptance into the program. The undergraduate student registration fees will not increase during registration, and CEU will not reimburse registration expenses.
