SUBJECT: Gate Closures Begin July 21 - NNPD Patrols Underway

Dear Colleagues,

Ensuring a safe and secure work environment is a top priority at Jefferson Lab. As such, the lab is receiving proactive support from the Newport News Police Department (NNPD) in response to recent vehicle break-ins in the surrounding area and on campus. While the site remains safe, NNPD patrols are an additional precaution to safeguard the lab community. As an added security measure, use of the following entrances and exits will be affected starting Monday, July 21:

  *   Changing - Rattley Road Gate:
     *   Closed from 6 p.m.-6 a.m. on weekdays.
     *   Closed at all times on lab holidays and weekends.
     *   Gate openings for shift changes:
        *   Monday through Friday; 10:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m.
        *   Saturday and Sunday; 6-8 a.m., 2:30-4:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m.
  *   Not Changing - Tech Center Parkway/Hofstadter Road Gate:
     *   Closed for entry from 6 p.m.-6 a.m. on weekdays and at all times on lab holidays and weekends.
     *   Drivers can exit through this gate, which will rise automatically as vehicles approach.
  *   Not Changing - Jefferson Avenue/Lawrence Drive Entrance/Exit:
     *   Remains open at all times.

Refer to the map below for scheduled gate closures. Lastly, please be vigilant while at the lab. If you see something, say something. Report any suspicious activity to Security at (757) 269-5822. Be proactive by keeping valuable items out of view and vehicle doors locked.
