The Theory Group of the Institute for Nuclear Physics at the Johannes
Gutenberg University Mainz invites applications for two post-doctoral
research associate positions in hadron/nuclear theory, within the newly
established collaborative research centre "The Low-Energy Frontier of
the Standard Model: from quarks and gluons to hadrons and nuclei",
funded by the German funding agency DFG.
The research interests of the group include meson and baryon structure
and phenomenology, chiral perturbation theory, dispersion relation
techniques, perturbative QCD, soft-collinear effective field theory,
precision electroweak physics.
The initial appointment is for two years, starting in 2012, with a
possibility of extension for a third year.
Applications will be reviewed from January 2nd, 2012 until the
positions are filled.
The application should include CV, list of publications, and a brief
statement of research interests. In addition, the applicants should
arrange for at least two letters of recommendation. Applicants must have
a PhD or equivalent in theoretical nuclear, hadron, or high-energy
physics and demonstrate a strong interest in hadron physics.
Interested candidates are kindly requested to submit their application to:
