The Centre for the Subatomic Structure of Matter (CSSM) at the 
University of Adelaide invites applications for two positions as a 
Research Associate in theoretical nuclear, particle and astro-particle 
physics.

The successful candidates will have a strong research record in 
theoretical physics with expertise in one or more of the following 
areas:  QCD; hadron structure; chiral effective theories; deep-inelastic 
scattering including GPDs and TMD; the equation of state of dense 
matter; neutron stars; physics of the LHC and physics beyond the 
Standard Model.


Position Requirements:

    a PhD (or thesis submitted) or equivalent degree in theoretical physics
    a commitment to research excellence in theoretical nuclear and 
particle physics
    demonstrated publication track record in leading scientific journals 
and conferences
    advanced analytical and computational skills
    demonstrated ability to conduct independent research in addition to 
working effectively as a member of a research team.

Salary: (Level A) $68,751---73,800 per annum. Plus an employer 
superannuation contribution of 17% applies.

Term of Position: These two fixed-term positions are available initially 
for a two year period, with the possibility of a further one year 
extension.  Position may be filled at a mutually satisfactory date.
