The Experimental Physics Software and Computing Infrastructure (EPSCI) group is part of the
Scientific Computing Department within the Computational Sciences and Technology division at
Jefferson Lab. The EPSCI mission is to: Identity, develop, implement, and maintain software and
computing technologies in support of the Jefferson Lab Science Program. The candidate will
participate in various EPSCI projects focused mainly on software development, deployment and
maintenance. This position will have particular focus on Data Acquisition software systems and
Reconstruction and Analysis software frameworks.

In this role you will...

• Exercise software engineering and maintenance in C++ and Java
• Work on Linux based systems and command-line interfaces
• Perform data analysis, benchmarking, and validation
• Deploy software systems for monitoring, calibration, and controls
• Provide user support for software tools developed by the group
• Present results at internal reviews and appropriate technical conferences


Requirements:
• PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Engineering, or Data Science

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Object Oriented programming in C++ and/or Java
• Familiarity with Github or GitLab for code maintenance
• Ability to communicate effectively with Scientists from other domains

Qualifications We Desire:
• Experience with Data Acquisition Systems and Streaming DAQ systems a plus
• Experience with reconstruction software frameworks in NP or HEP a plus (e.g. JANA, CLARA, …)
