Jochen and Carsten,
Thank you for the answers.
A great deal of of the variation in performance we are finding
in drcprop comes from the simple fact that the number of produced
cherenkov photons scales as thickness/sin\theta.
However, multiple scattering will scale as the square root of the
same number, and may exceed 1 mr at the smallest angles we are considering.
As we understand better our lens performance, we will have to include
these effects as well.
