[DIRC] R&D advisory committee meeting

Hello Everyone,

I only finished the slides quite late, but I uploaded them to google docs. They can also be downloaded from the meeting page.

I did, however, use a lot of the material provided by Greg, Joe, and Yordanka, so you should recognize them! :)

As for the outcome, my impression was that the general reception was very positive, and Jerry in particular was quite happy with our progress. However, he did formulate four question and a comment, which suggest a little more simulation work for us. In particular, he would like us to make a quantitative comparison between a solution with an advanced lens and an FDIRC re-optimized for performance rather than compatibility with the old BaBar hardware. To follow up on the latter, I suggested that Greg will meet with Jerry when he is at SLAC for the upcoming HPS meeting. But hopefully this additional work will be manageable. Let’s discuss more details at the next DIRC meeting!
