Thanks Don,
Our experience with the prototype showed us where we needed to focus when we design and program for the system. In that same way we will learn from the running system so that our future projects are robust and resilient to handle some the issues we are experiencing.
Go DSG!

Subject: so far so good
Hi Marc, Brian,
I just wanted to comment on how pleased I am with the ECal heater system. There are a lot of components: thousands of high current connections and cords, 500 heaters, 140 thermocouples, 48 power supplies with relays and connectors and cords and and a complicated control + safety system. This thing has been running for almost 3 months (some of the zones have been running at maximum the whole time) now without any major systems failures other than radiation damage. I was worried that at least one of the connections would short out or fail like in the prototype, but so far it's been wonderful. The multiple levels of component testing is paying off. I hope it continues as seamlessly for the next month and a half and then we can celebrate!
All the best,
Don
