Hi Evaristo,

There is no issue with making an impromptu meeting to cover your items, if we need too. I can always set up a Bluejeans meeting and a phone conference and provide plenty of notice just in case we need to make an adjustment. As long as we have good communications we can provide the necessary support for the detector.

As far as the testing of the system is concerned, once the distribution system is assembled we would like to connect between the test supply and the detector and run the gas as if it were in operation (as best as possible). We can then provide flow and balance the manual rotameters, check for any leaks, flow read back, or any other issues before we install it in the hall.

These tests can be done in the Test Lab, as long as all safety requirements are fulfilled and we have a supply of gas. It should be portable enough to move, given the proper time and services.

Regards,
Marc

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Re: [Dsg-halla_gas] Hall A SBS/BB GEM Gas Distribution Meeting

Dear Marc,

I apologize I probably confuse the meeting time (I assumed the time written in
the agenda).

Concerning the test on the GEM chamber:

 1) currently the INFN GEM are in the Test Lab ("clean room")

 2) in April (or May? see *bottom line*) we would like to move them to the TED
 for installation in the BigBite

 3) in TED we will load the GEMs into the support frame and then install
the loaded frame into the BigBite spectrometer.

 4) GEMs will stay in BigBite, in TED area till late summer/September, when the
spectrometer will be moved into the Hall

What kind of test you have in mind ?
Can it be done in Test Lab before moving GEM to TED and then move both GEM and
distribution system to TED ?

*bottom line*: due to the COVID-19 emergency I am unable to make a solid plan.
Optimistically, my group will be at JLab to work on the GEM in April; more
realistically our visit shall be postponed to May (hopefully not later!)

Thanks

Best,
Evaristo
