[Dsg-halla_magnets] Cable routing

Hi Mindy,

Do you know how long are these ribbon cables you have in hand?

We can short them to maybe 18 inch. The attached picture shows the Dataforth back-plane in the left side and the breakout panel in the right side. There is one long ribbon cable connected already.

To reduce the length of the ribbon cable, one connector in one side will need to be cut and re-done. Is this difficult ?

Subject: [Dsg-halla_magnets] Cable routing

Hi,

I would suggest routing the cable that go from the I/O rack to the PLC rack upwards, from the terminal blocks to the top of the I/O racks.
The cables that come from the Magnet to the I/O rack could then be routed from the bottom of the rack up to the terminal strips.
this would reduce the cable density in the plastic cable duct tray.

Could the Dataforth ribbon cable be easily shortened? Between the Dataforth backplane and the breakout panel?

Steven
