[Dsg-hallb_magnets] Readout of the status of the guard vacuum pump

Hello Ruben,

See my answers in blue:

1. I understand from Renuka that PT8677 is already being monitored by the PLC - is this correct?

Yes, the readout signal for the PT8677 (Guard Vacuum) pressure is already monitored by the PLC and also appears in the Solenoid wiring drawing B00000-900-0626.

2. Which screen is PT8677 presently being displayed on? We will need it displayed on the Cryo screen.

The PT8677 is currently displayed on the EPICS Helium-SST screen.

3. We will also need an 'indicator' located next to the PT8677 to provide 'pump motor status'

I shall look through the information George has sent round to determine what form this status will take and will let you know.

Is there a spare PLC channel to allow inclusion of this status?

I already looked into the information sent by George Biallas and I cannot found any useful information to determinate the type of the output signals of the guard vacuum pump controller (MOOG- BDO-Q2-50-40). To my understanding typically these outputs signals: S1 (Hall Switch #1) and GND (GND for hall sensors #9) used to be aware of the status of the guard pump; gives pulse train signals (Discrete Signals), but there is nothing in the manual to confirm that.

So maybe I can contact to the vendor of the controller and confirm this aspect, and then I can determinate if we have any spare available in the PLC input modules to be used to monitor this signal.

Best Regard

Pablo

Scot

Could you please work with Mark to get the relevant cables made?

Pablo

Can you implement this in the PLC and work with Wesley to get the EPICS screen updated? Also remember to update the relevant spreadsheets and then work with Renuka to get the docs updated.

Also speak to Joe Matalevich to see what alarms and/or controls he needs setting up.

Regards

Ruben
