Hello David,

With regards to the correction that you mention to the PLC vacuum signals readouts, I verified that the assignation for the PLC channels for each vacuum gauge are correct. However I found that the analog outputs wiring from the Vacuum controller perhaps is not correct.

Scot,

Looking to the DWG B00000-09-00-0656, sheet 2, I noticed that the wiring of the pin-outs for the analog outputs in the Vacuum controller Pfiffer TPG-362 are reversed for pin 1 and pin 2.
According to the Pfiffer TPG-362 manual (see attached, page 15): pin 2 is associate with the gauge # 1 (CG8606) and pin 1 corresponds to gauge # 2 (CG8600TB).
In the mentioned DGW above the pin 1 is used for the analog output signal (0-10 V) for gauge #1 (CG8606) and Pin 2 for gauge #2 (CG8600TB).
I believe that this is why the vacuum signals are reversed and the wiring and drawing should to be modified. Can you please check and confirm this.

Best Regards,
Pablo

The CG gauge signals are reversed in the PLC....
Please correct...

Thanks,
David

Hello Ruben,

The following are task completed today with regards to the readout of the vacuum signals.

1. Removed temporary PLC logic program that was used to monitor the temporary vacuum gauge on CG8606.
2. Wiring for temporary gauge was removed from the terminal block in the controls rack to connect actual vacuum gauge signal CG8606.
3.Verified correct assignation in the PLC analog input channels (0-10 V) for three vacuum signals (CG8606, CG8600TB, and TB8600)
4. The connector hooked in Turbo pump TC-1200 remote was modified, pin 1 (+24VDC) was disable to avoid turning on of the turbo pump, This remote option not required by our control system; connector only used to monitor the speed in the turbo pump (pin 12: 0-10 V output).
5. Verified wiring (continuity and sense) for the three signals.
6. Measured voltage in the terminal block to make sure the PLC analog input operation range 0-10 V.
7. Actual readouts for the vacuum signals were compared between hardware vacuum controllers and the readouts on the Solenoid control systems (PLC and EPICS). The initial readouts as follow:
Vacuum signal
Pfeiffer DCU-002 Unit - Turbo Pump
Pfeiffer TPG-362 - Vacuum controller PLC/EPICS
CG8606
4.27 [torr] 4.191 / 4.18 [torr]
CG8600TB
1.51*10^-2 [torr] 1.512*10^-2 / 0.01 [torr]
TB8600 0 %
0.101 / 0.10 %

Best Regards,
Pablo
