This debris is therefore most likely to be from the machining operations on the jumper plates that our machine shop manufactured for us to extend the existing power supply busbars.

After working with David Hamlette in RadCon on a procedure to try and collect the debris in the MPS, we came up with using a HEPA vacuum and the bag itself would be surveyed prior to removal from Hall B.
Pablo and I first vacuumed up as best as we could then we wiped down the surfaces with shop rags and isopropyl alcohol. Attached are some pictures (they're ~2 MB each as I didn't reduce the resolution) of the debris captured in the bag.
Rather than being strands of wire as I had initially guessed, most look like chips from machining work (milling/drilling/cutting/etc). There are both copper and silver colored objects; and judging by the smallest bits I find it highly unlikely we managed to remove everything as some are tiny enough that only at the higher magnifications did they even become visible. All the microscope pictures below are at the lowest zoom level, for a size reference the long copper coil in the second picture is ~6 mm in diameter.
