Hello Xiangdong,
As we discussed, I started looking into the monitoring of the turbo pumps in LabVIEW.
>From the available information and specifications from Pfeiffer, it seems like we might not be able to connect DUC 002 (vacuum display and control unit panel) and the PC simultaneously the via the available RS485 serial connectors with the TC1200 electronic drive unit in the turbo pump.
There is another Remote connector on the TC1200 electronic drive unit which shows some pins that can be used for RS485, but the information on the manual is not clear, so I will email Pfeiffer to confirm this.
We have another option to read only one analog output signal from the TC 1200, but it will require to use the existing NI-6001 DAQ AI channels. The NI-6001 DAQ offers 4 AI channels in differential mode or 8 AI channels in single-ended mode; currently there are 2 AI channels in differential mode used for the pressure transducers, which leave us with 2 AI channels available in differential mode. Since you mentioned that at least the turbo pump speed needs to be monitored, we would need 4 AI channels (Assuming only 4 turbo pumps), as you can see, going with this option will involve getting another DAQ module or change the remain AI channels configurations to single-ended mode. Differential mode is usually recommended for noisy environments.
Are there any other signals that you want to monitor for the turbo pumps?
Regards,
Pablo
