Our collaborators from INFN(Italy) are purchasing a fabricated structure from a local (VA) company. They wanted to know if it should be tax exempt since it will be used for scientific purposes, here at Jlab.

There are some items we are tax exempt from, but I am not sure how that applies to INFN. I will see if someone in procurement knows.

Hi Marc, 
the quote from G&R says it doesn't include Virginia tax of 6%, but I 
guess that, being scientific material, the purchase will be tax-free. Is 
it correct?
