Hello,
This morning, DSG removed the stiffening tool from the RICH detector shell.
The procedure used to remove the stiffening tool is as follows:
1.) Attach gantry to lift points of stiffening tool.
2.) Take up slack on gantry to take load of stiffening tool off of detector shell.
3.) Loosen all bolts for lateral arms.
4.) Remove bolts and lateral arms from horizontal crossbars leaving plates that fasten stiffening tool to RICH (nose plates) in place.
5.) Lift horizontal crossbars using gantry.
6.) Set horizontal crossbars onto carts on floor.
7.) Remove nose plates.
The stiffening tool is currently on the EEL 124 cleanroom floor on carts near the front roll-up door. Once the empty crates in EEL 125 are removed, we will move the stiffening tool into EEL 125.
During the removal of the stiffening tool, we noted that there are some places where there does not appear to be clearance for washers. Once we receive all additional hardware, we can check the bolt locations and trim washers to fit, as Dario suggested.
Best regards,
Tyler
