[Dsg-rich] Nitrogen volume humidity sensor #7

Hello,

I spoke to Marco Contalbrigo regarding the replacement of nitrogen volume humidity #7. INFN schedules to have this bad sensor replaced with a new humidity sensor on Monday December 18.

On Monday, it is also planned to install the complete cable we have in RICH near the front panel.

Marco also inquired whether we could put an Easidew hygrometer in RICH to measure water concentration. It is not a definite decision that INFN wants the Easidew hygrometer inside RICH as they are unsure of how the sensor should be mounted and how the sensor's cables will enter RICH's nitrogen volume.

Best regards,
Tyler

Hello Marco Contalbrigo and Marco Mirazita,

Would DSG be able to repair or replace Nitrogen volume humidity sensor #7?

It must be replaced before the final installation of the front panels. We will not be able to fix or change the sensor after RICH is sealed.

Best regards,
Tyler

Hello,

December 12 at ~1:00PM, nitrogen volume humidity sensor #7 jumped to ~60% humidity. This humidity reading appears to be incorrect as nitrogen volume humidity sensor #14 on the same board as humidity #7 remained lower near the value of all other humidity sensors.

Since humidity sensor #7 does not appear to be working and its sensor board is in a place accessible while the front panels are removed from RICH we have two options:

Option 1 is to remove the bad humidity sensor and solder a new one in its place. Mindy could remove the bad sensor and replace it with a new sensor.

Option 2 is to remove the entire sensor board and replace it with a spare board and cable that we have ready to go. The spare board would need to be epoxied in place on the detector shell if this option is chosen.

Please let us know which option would be preferred so we can fix the issue.

Best regards,
Tyler
