Hello Dario and Sandro,

In regards to the 3/4-inch nuts needed to anchor the RICH assembly structure, should the leveling nuts and locking nuts be of a specific thickness? We cannot find this information in the documentation. Please let us know.

Best regards,
Tyler

Hi Tyler,
following the required information.

1. In October 2016 (email below in blue), Sandro noted that the assembly structure would need 3/4 inch Hilti bolt anchors. Have the Hilti bolts been included in the crates that arrived at JLab in January?

No, they aren’t included in the crates.

2. Could you confirm that 3/4 inch diameter bolts will be used to anchor the assembly structure?

Yes, we confirm the ¾ inch diamenter bolts.

The anchor bolts system details are shown in the document: SMC TA-STR-001.pdf.

I send it in attachement.

It consist of two components:

- 1) DROP-IN ANCHOR HDI ¾” https://www.us.hilti.com/anchor-systems/flush-anchors/336429 ,

- 2) THREADED ROD 8” in lenght (Steel grade A).

In addition I send you the file: “Anchoring Template Layout In EEL124_Top View”with:

- the position of the drilling template;

- The view of the drilling template assembled;

- The typical section of the anchoring system.

3. Could the drilling to anchor the assembly structure occur prior to INFN collaborator arrival at JLab? DSG could assemble the drilling template and arrange the anchor holes drilling for the week of February 27 as the blind drilling permit is valid starting February 27, 2017.

Yes, you can procede about the realization of the drilling.

4. In October 2016, a CAD model containing the EEL124 layout for RICH assembly was shared with the DSG. Attached is a top view of the model with dimensions measured in inches. Could you confirm that this is the correct layout for RICH assembly?

To avoid any misunderstanding see the file: “Anchoring Template Layout In EEL124_Top View

As you prefer, we can arrange a meeting (Skype or Blue Jeans) to clarify any doubts.

Best regards

Dario & Sandro
