Hello Frank,

We are setting up a compressor that we bought from you in 2016 and have gotten to the point where we need further help from Atlas Copco.

You mentioned previously that Atlas Copco could provide a complimentary factory start-up, given a week's advance notice. Could we schedule the factory start-up for next Tuesday, July 18, 2017?

Please let us know.

Best regards,
Tyler

Also, as mentioned, I’d be glad to provide a complimentary factory start up. We would just need a few days to a week advance notice.

With the factory start up any liability is on us once the compressor is powered up, so it takes the burden off you in case something does happen to go awry.

Tyler,

Yes, the 200v is our designation for 208v. So you are OK to hook the units to 208v power.

(I know it doesn’t make the most sense.)

If you need any additional support documents please feel free to let me know.

Also, in the manual, it should be on a disc, the required amps can be found in the technical section.

And , if you want us to perform a factory start up, once the wires are landed, let me know as well.

Best regards,

Hello Richard, Gerry and Frank,

You have have been our contacts in the past regarding questions for our Atlas-Copco compressors so I figured I would email you all directly rather than having to go through the Atlas-Copco website's contact page.

We are trying to connect the compressors we have to power. The compressor manual we have states that the compressor needs 200 V, 60 Hz, 3 phase power. The power unit we have on hand supplies 208 V, 60 Hz, 3 phase power. Would the 208 V power be okay to use with the Atlas Copco compressors we have?

The serial numbers and models for our compressors is below.

Hello Richard,

Thank you for the information.

>From what you have sent, I understand that we will not be able to communicate to the compressor unless we buy a MKV Gateway module. Is this correct?

Is a MKV Gateway module something that we can only buy from Atlas-Copco?

Best regards,

Tyler

Hello,
I believe what you would need is a MKV Gateway module that would interface to our equipment through a CAN network and output either Modbus RTU or Profibus communications protocols to your system. There is no onboard software or capabilities for our compressor controllers to communicate to the outside world through any of these mentioned ports. The RS485 is used solely for internal VSD controls if this were a variable speed drive compressor. The IO port is used for expansion modules for additional controls. The CAN port may only be accessed by our equipment.

If the serial numbers for your equipment is correct I have provided a Modbus (Profibus) Register Map of available data points for monitoring and control. I am also including a CAN cable instruction for interconnection between machines and the Gateway, as well as a Gateway Manual (and in addition an earlier generation Modbus manual that I believe provides a more complete description of utilizing Modbus communications with our equipment.) The Gateway modbus mapping for an SF11+ will cover both machines listed.

Hello Gerry,

My address would be 12000 Jefferson Ave., Newport News, VA 23606. We spoke to Frank Fair last year and he helped us buy the two compressors. I emailed him directly at " frank.fair at us.atlascopco.com " on March 28, 2017 but he has not replied.

The serial number on the back of the Elecktronikon Graphic Controller for one compressor is SRN1631A00093. I do not have easy access to the other compressor at the moment, but I can get its serial number if needed.

Best regards,
Tyler

Subject: Fwd: [Dsg-rich] Manual for Elektronikon Graphic controller on Atlas Copco compressor

Hello,

In June 2016, we bought two Atlas Copco compressors (model SF-11+ 100 FF LC 200). We are starting to work the compressors into our controls system to provide air cooling to the RICH detector we are building.

We found in the manual provided at the time of purchase (attached) detailed instructions for compressor operation from the local Elektronikon Graphic controller screen on the compressor. There are also instructions on how to set up the web server controls for the compressor.

We cannot find any instructions relating to other types of remote access via the RS485, I/O, or CAN ports on the back of Elektronikon Graphic controller. Is there an additional manual that you can send us with commands or instructions on how to interface with the controller via these ports? Please let us know.

Best regards,
