[Dsg-rich] RICH electronics and cooling system timeline

Hi Dave,
The only reason the 1" components are used is due to the 1" check valve capacity and the sizes of the press reg and relief. 1/2" port reducers can be used to eliminate the 1" lines.
I had not started to remove the mixed metals and brands until I was able to discuss this with you. I had planned to switch to 1/2" copper lines. I have the copper lines, brass valves, and fittings to do so, but wanted to clear this with you first.
I can certainly begin removal of the items you specify later today or Monday.
George

Hi George,
Making a May 1st deadline is possible but will require some extra work from me. As far as a path forward there are still several issues:
* There are still mixed materials. This does not conform to the specifications listed in the Swagelok catalogs/manuals and has to be corrected.
* The system components were not properly assembled.
* There are components from different manufactures connected together (Parker/Swagelok). This does not conform to the specifications listed in the Swagelok catalogs/manuals and has to be corrected.
I am working on a list of components from Swagelok etc. that will have to be obtained (purchased or otherwise). It is not too extensive but the target group does not stock 1" swagelok components so I will have to "find" or purchase them. After the components are obtained the entire system will have to be disassembled and reassembled correctly to bring it into compliance.
Post assembly there is still the following work to be completed:
* examinations of all mechanical joints and materials
* proper filing of all documentation related to the system
* Inspection of the system including final system walkdown
* Testing of the system including a final leak test.
* Registration of the pressure vessel and relief device
* System turnover to Bob Miller (assumed owner of the system)
The DSG can certainly help assemble the system under the supervision of a trained (as determined by the system DA) technician. They can also help with setup of the pressure test(s). Everything else will fall onto the DA and examiner with the final walk down of the system performed by the JLAB QA inspector.
I have CC'd Patrizia because she asked a similar question of me this morning and I wanted to make clear what needs to be completed.

Hi Dave,
We have due date on the RICH air cooling system according the my supervisor, 1 May is the day they will start using it in the EEL for testing.
I have some ideas, but you said you had a plan involving the pre-swage tool. Can we meet and decide a way forward on this?

hi george,
discussions with dario and sandro, and the e-mail from valery clearly indicates that the rich group needs to have the gas system ready by 1st of may 2017.

Hello Tyler,
We will start the test of electronics boards this week. We moved the boxes from your room to F252.
First of all we will check all 25K channels with generator and later on with PMTs at our laser stand. It
will take at least one month to finish this job. We plan to assemble the electronics panel in parallel with
the laser test so.
I think that we have to finish gas system approval by May when the electronics panel will be completely assembled with
front-end electrons and PMTs. As for my knowledge Dave Meekins gave his recommendation how to improve gas system design.
Did we do what he requested?
Regards,
Valery

Hello Valery,
This morning we received the RICH electronic boards. The boxes are in EEL 121 small cleanroom's gowning area. What would be the timeline for testing and installing the electronics?\
Also, when would the air cooling system be needed? A rough date is needed to give Dave Meekins, RICH gas system Design Authority, adequate time to approve the gas system since it is a pressure system. We cannot operate the air cooling system without DA approval.
Please let us know.
Best regards,
Tyler
