Hello Giovanni,

Dr. Rossi informed DSG that for upcoming RICH sectors, the d0 measurement and acceptance tests for the RICH spherical mirrors may also be performed at GWU. She advised that we should coordinate with you to develop the improved test station so the tests could performed using the same program at both JLab and GWU.

For the improved test station, we plan to write the new program in LabVIEW to run on Windows. This would allow the overall d0 measurement to be more automated and move away from the program only being able to be run from one specialized Debian computer (as it is now).

As for the status of our development of the improved test station, it is on hold until we can figure out how the original program is calculating d0.

I've made some attempts at reverse engineering the results of past mirrors' d0 measurement but my d0 value tends to be ~ 0.2 mm smaller than the result of the original d0 calculation program.

Would you have any information on the d0 calculation or the source code of the original program (the name of its executable is "d0val-G").

Please let us know.

Best regards,

Tyler
