Hi Frank,
We are having some issues with one of the SF compressors. Can you give me contact info for the local authorized service tech?
Thanks,

Hi George,
Attached is our “Compressed Air Manual”, Section 2.4 details the quality levels derived with specific dryers and gives a good overview.
We can provide dryers that will provide up to a -100*F dewpoint. (A standard desiccant dryer would be rated for a -40*F dewpoint.)
You can pair the ZT-45 with a stand alone dryer that would provide a -100*F dewpoint. This would be the cleanest / driest air we could provide.
The “IMD” quoted with the ZT is a dewpoint suppression dryer, but the dewpoint can vary greatly with inlet conditions.
But it would still be generally very dry air.
Best Regards,
Frank Fair

Subject: Re: Atlas Copco ZT 45-7.5 compressors
We want the air to be as dry as reasonably possible. We are using the air to cool an enclosed electronics package. The package is inside a dry nitrogen filled detector volume. The electronics enclosure is not as leak tight as we would prefer, so, a portion of the cooling air leaks into the dry nitrogen space. The moisture reduces the efficiency of the detector, so, we want to eliminate it. It's likely the purchase of these external filters, if that is what is decided, has a significantly longer time line than the compressor, but folks are asking questions about them now.
Thanks,
George

Hi George,
The model you specified, with the IMD dryer, is an internal dryer, housed in the compressor cabinet.
Is this what you meant to request?
With an external desiccant dryer the filters are included, we would have pre-filters upstream of the dryer and a final filter down stream.

Hi Frank,
What external filters do you recomend? The final configuration will have 2 compressors in parrallel with any filters between the compressors and receiver. We are interested in an external desicant and a HEPA.
Thanks,
George

Hi George,
Please find the quote for the ZT-45 compressor.
As noted on the proposal, the ZR-45 (water cooled) would be the same price.
It seems like you have the technical data but please let me know if you require any further information.
Thank you for this opportunity to be of service.

Hi Frank,
We have some experience now with running the current system. The desiccant dryer would be prefered. The refrigerated dryer only removes moisture down to ~1500ppm H2O in the air. What would the footprint look like for the desicant vs the fridge? These units have a larger footprint than the current units.
We currently have a 240 gal receiver between the compressor and air distribution system.
We would like to place the compressors in the same, current, location to replace the current units. This location may not have sufficient space depending on the overall footprint.
Thanks,
George

Hi George,
Yes, I’d be glad to help. I take it you would want a complete system including a receiver tank and an air dryer?
Do you know the dewpoint you require? A refrigerated dryer is 38*F, and desiccant dryer is -40*F, or can be -100*F.
Are there any space restrictions?
Are these going to be housed indoors?
Any other notes worth mentioning?
And you are correct, the SF and ZT are 100% oil-free compressors. The ZT has a 100% duty cycle, where the SF, a scroll type, should be run at a 50% to 60% duty cycle.

Hi Frank,
I am working on a new project and need some info on the Atlas Copco ZT 45-7.5 compressor. All the same requirements as before, but much higher flows are required. Continuous air flow of up to 5600 lpm (200 scfm). I am assuming the ZT makes the same air quality as the SF compressors.
Just starting to design the system and need to get a reasonable cost estimate of 2 of these Zero Air compressors for this project.
Or if you have a better one to recommend on this.
Thanks,
George
