Hi Tyler,
Thanks a lot for the detailed reply!
The only missing item is the timescale of the new interlock production.
I will discuss with Bob the usage of both compressors in the Hall.B.
Best regards,
Valery

Subject: Re: RICH-II interlock
Hi Valery,
Since the completion of the last RICH sector, DSG has been looking at some improvements that can be made to the previous sector's interlock system for RICH-II. The main improvement is switching temperature and humidity sensors to a new, lower cost, higher accuracy digital sensor from Sensirion. Peter Bonneau has been looking into this and has published several notes on the subject to the DSG website. They are all listed at the end of this email.
For the RICH-II's nitrogen, we'll use the second channel of the exiting RICH nitrogen supply panel.
For the air cooling, we'd probably have to take another look at the current air panel and determine if RICH-I's supply can be moved to a single supply output (RICH-I is currently using both outputs on the panel).
In regards to the compressor for cooling RICH in the EEL, do you know what Hall B is planning on doing after finally having two running compressors? Are they planning on using two compressors at once to lessen the over all load on each individual compressor?

Subject: RICH-II interlock
Hi Tyler,
I want to preliminary discuss with you our activity to assemble RICH-II in the cleaning room.
Do you have a plan to design, produce, instal and test interlock for RICH-II?
We are going to assemble everything in the clean room as we did it in 2017. it is difficult to plan during pandemic but preliminary
we want to start assembly in 2021 before summer: mechanics, photomatrix, HV, LV, DAQ etc.
The detector will be equipped as in the Hall-B: HV, LV, DAQ, cooling... I guess that we have to move the compressor from Hall-B to the clean room as well. The new compressor will be installed in the Hall-B and tested in February.
What do you think?
Best regards,
Valery

Subject: [dsg-hallb_rich] Upcoming planned power outage in TEDF/Test Lab should not effect RICH aerogel
Hello,
There is a short, ~30 minute, planned power outage in the TEDF building and Test Lab over the upcoming shutdown (see attached email chain).
This outage should not effect the RICH aerogel dry boxes in the EEL. In the event the outage does turn off power in the EEL, since it is so short, the aerogel should not be too adversely effected and the dry boxes will turn back on and resume drying automatically after power is restored.
We will continue monitoring the dry boxes over the shutdown, as we have throughout the rest of the year to make sure that there are no other issues.
Tyler
