Subject: [EXTERNAL] Re: Cabinets with aerogel
Dear Tyler,
moving the aerogel should be done if really necessary.
At the Hall-B meeting today we got a long discussion and
several suggestions. Here is a sumamry of open questions:
- does the cabinet restart the drying cycle after a power
cycle ? If not, we can run in a situation that even after
a short power cut the cabinets stop to work.
When the cabinets have previously moved and unpowered, they have restarted with the same set point (0.5 %RH) and started the drying cycle.
- who can access the DSG small clean room (EEL 121b)
in the next weeks ? We were told that Brian Eng will
get access to the Lab. Is it true ?
Brian is the alternative to Jack Segal and can only go in if Jack falls sick and cannot go in.
- is the aerogel stored inside its plastic envelopes ?
(this would temporarily limit the humidity exchange
in case of power failure)
The tiles are all stored in plastic bags. Most are double bagged. There are a few (exact number unknown, but only a few) that are in one bag.
- HDice group offers to store the cabinets in their
TestLab, where a Diesel generator is available. How
many cabinets are in use for the aerogel and is
any aerogel stored in the big SVT cabinet in the
big clean room (EEL 125) ?
There are three small dry boxes filled with aerogel in the gowning room. There are no tiles anywhere else.
Thanks, Marco.
