Good morning Tim and Jen,

Within the next week or so, we expect to have the RICH detector dry tent reassembled in EEL 124 (cleanroom). This will be the same size as in 2017 to follow the guide lines from chapter 2 appendix 1. The structure will be ~12' x 5' and will have an aluminum frame with for the covering.

Just as a reminder, the tent will be used to house Aerogel as it is being assembled on the detector panels. A dry-box will be used to reduce the humidity inside the tent which will prevent the Aerogel from absorbing moisture.

After we get it assembled, we will invite you to come and review it.

Marc,

The construction of the tent must still adhere to Section 3.2 Construction Materials, the square footage dictates whether the tent should require sprinkler protection. The approval process is fairly quick if section 3.0 is followed. I can come out and bless it without delay.

I read the section on portable clean rooms, so just to confirm, if we
keep the foot print below 65sf...we can build it with basic
non-flammables (FR plastic, unistrut...ect)?

or

If the structure needs to be slightly larger than that...e.g.  84sf, how
long is the approval process? Is it just a few days, or will it take
more than that for the approval items:
1. FPE inspection
2. Protection requirements for the room.
3. Assignment of the unique identifying number.
4. Permit issue

Thanks in advance, this information will help us plan efficiently.
