[dsg-hallb_rich] [EXTERNAL] Re: Parts for RICH mirrors to 3D print

Hi Sandro,

I put the part on the round table in EEL 121/C.

I left the supports on the part (they just need to be cut off with flush cutters) so you could see what they look like. I also purposely printed it at a slight angle so you could see the layer thickness, it's especially noticeable on the flange edge.

The part was printed with a 100 micron layer thickness, it can go down to 25 microns, but that's usually not needed.

Hi Brian,

I have produced one attached this email.

I think it is ok what you have already done. We do not need a very high resolution.

I would like to test how stiff it is.

Clear resin is ok as well.

Many thanks

Sandro

Hi Sandro,

Do you already have .stl files for that part? I can generate those just fine but wasn't sure if you already had one if you wanted to compare something more directly as those settings will determine how fine the circles on the part are.

Also we only have clear resin currently, is that's okay?

I attached a screenshot of what the software put as the suggested orientation and supports for the part.

Hi Tyler,

can you try to print three of them with the SLA 3D printer?

I am interested to see the result.

Many thanks

Sandro

Hi Marco,

We talked today about having some items 3D printed at JLab for the RICH spherical mirror support system.

If you have it, could you send us the model for what needs to be printed?

DSG has an SLA 3D printer that could be used or if an extrusion 3D printer is preferred, we can look into one of JLab's other 3D printers.
