We need only alarm for humidity sensors.

I have a question about the humidity HV/LV interlock. What is the purpose of the humidity HV/LV interlock? Would a high humidity alarm be more useful?

Hi Valery and Amrit,
The detector until today what we've been calling RICH-1 (the old RICH) is in sector 4.
The RICH sector 4 humidity sensors do work, their reading is just so low that the sensor outputs a zero. We can also see this in the nitrogen volume sensors in RICH sector 1.
Since the interlocks for the humidity are not enabled, we're essentially only monitoring the humidity.
For Sector 4, if the humidity interlock is enabled, it will turn off LV and HV.
For Sector 1, it will only alert.
This difference exists because of the difference in how DSG did hardware interlock systems for RICH S4 vs RICH S1.
How should the screens be laid out? Like RICH S4? Or RICH S1?

Hi Tyler,
I attached current status of the RICH hardware interlock. Some remarks.
* The design is different for RICH in sector 1 and 4.
* Humidity sensors in sector 4 (old RICH) don't work at all
What happened if I switch on humidity sensor in case of interlock event?
I want only to get email notification but don't touch HV and LV.
Would we ever plan to enable them? If not, would it be worth hiding the enable and limit set controls on EPICS to simplify screens? Something similar can also be done for the other sector if desired.
I prefer to leave it as is for a moment.
To make sure I have it right:
The old RICH will be relabeled to RICH Sector 4
The new RICH will be relabeled to RICH Sector 1
This is correct.
Thank you,
Valery

Hi Valery,
I’ll work on changing the naming scheme to match what sector the detectors are in.
To make sure I have it right:
The old RICH will be relabeled to RICH Sector 4
The new RICH will be relabeled to RICH Sector 1
Also, I’ve noticed that for the detector formerly known as RICH-2, the interlocks for all humidity sensors and the N2 volume temperature sensors have never been enabled.
Would we ever plan to enable them? If not, would it be worth hiding the enable and limit set controls on EPICS to simplify screens? Something similar can also be done for the other sector if desired.

Hi Tyler,
RICH hardware interlock has incorrect titles.
RICH-I is located in sector 4
RICH-II is located in sector 1.
Your title says that RICH-I is located in sector 1.
I prefer to remove old names RICH-I and RICH-II.
We have to call it: RICH in sector 1 and RICH in sector 4.
Shifters don't know what RICh was first and what RICH was second.
They know sector number.
Slow control uses sector based names as well.
Could you please edit GUI?
Thanks,
Valery
