[dsg-hallb_rich] RICH interlocks network restored - but S4 gas monitoring lost

Hi Valery,

Just following up on my email from Friday.

The cause of RICH Sector 1's (second sector assembled in ~2021) gas system values all reading zero was a network configuration error on the controller, not a hardware failure as anticipated.

My guess is some configuration got affected by the power work in the hall or the network switch swap.

Because of that, it was easy to re-assign it the correct IP address and get the system back to running as normal.

Everything is running as normal for over the holiday shutdown.

Hi Valery,

I've realized I mistyped my earlier message and got the RICH sector numbers wrong. Any place that said RICH S4 should be RICH S1.

RICH S1 gas system values are all zero.

Sorry for any confusion.

Hy Tyler,
The RICH compressor is OFF. So the air flow is zero.

Sector 4 nitrogen flow is OK, 39.45 right now.
Sector 1 nitrogen flow is zero.
Sector 4 humidity is still 0.00.

Sector 4 LV and HV status : enables, has to be disabled.
Regards,
Valery

Hi Valery,

Nathan replaced the network switch that RICH interlock systems use and I've rebooted the cRIOs.
Both systems came back up and are now accessible over the network.

But, it unfortunately looks like there yet another problem with the instrumentation reading out RICH S4 air flows and nitrogen flows as they are all showing zero again.
I verified in the hall at the gas panel that the S4 is still getting N2 flow and we can see the humidity data remotely now.

The typical solution is to swap the peripheral controller responsible for reading those sensors for a spare.
I have spares on hand, but it'll take some time to configure it for RICH and install it in the hall.

So, since the detector is off for the accelerator shutdown and we know the detector still has N2 flow and will be okay over the weekend, my plan is to spend this afternoon preparing and then perform the swap Monday morning (12/22).
