Tyler mentioned in a previous email that he thought it wasn't actually used, but I can re-enable it again if need be.
In so far as Valery's plot is concerned, the dead-band value should be modified to not save so much data to Mya.

Hello Brian,
maybe I'm wrong, Tyler can confirm it or not, but I remember that the
averaging was enabled at some point to avoid fake alarms due to spikes
in the readout of the values.
We should make sure that disabling the averaging will not make the
alarms system less stable.
