I agree,  we should switch to the oil performing this function. It may require some minor oil level adjustments when moved to the hall in order to prevent gas loss at this location.

I am not saying that CV1 hasn’t been there all along, or that it didn’t have a purpose. I am just wondering whether we could remove it and instead rely on the bubbler to provide the overpressure relief. The advantage would be that it would engage already at much lower overpressure (for instance, we could have have one 1 cm of oil above the entrance tube, which would limit the overpressure to 10^-3 atmospheres or 0.014 psi. But it’s not a big issues either way...
