A relay card was installed in the APC UPS on the second floor of the counting house to allow its status to be monitored by PLC. This UPS provides back-up power to all HMS PLC chassis (I/O and controllers) and the SHMS PLC controller chassis.

The relay card outputs were left in their default configuration. The attached screen shot shows which faults will cause the relay card to alarm. This configuration can be changed at any time without affecting UPS operations by connecting to the card with a USB cable and running the configuration program stored on the card.

At this point, the pre-wired connector on the relay card can be cabled to the PLC at any time.
