Hello Steve,
We've developed two routines for the PLC code to monitor Hall C's UPS units.
One routine will go on the HMS PLC and directly monitor the small APC UPS on the second floor of the counting house and will also directly monitor the FERRUPS UPS in the HMS detector hut. The second routine will go on the SHMS PLC and will monitor a network tag generated by the HMS PLC for the small APC UPS and will directly monitor the FERRUPS UPS in the SHMS detector hut. After importing the routines to the appropriate PLC, the PLCs will need to be configured to generate/read a network tag for monitoring the APC UPS on both UPS systems.
When would be able to add these routines to the HMS and SHMS PLCs?
In regards to hardware, there are a few more items needed that Hall C will need to provide in order to fully complete the UPS monitoring task.
For the APC UPS, a 24 V power supply to generate the monitored signal and a cable to the PLC is needed. For the two FERRUPS UPS units, two cables are needed with a 25-pin d-sub connector on one end and ferrules on the other. The pin out for these connectors will be sent shortly. These cables will need to be connected to the UPS port and then run to the appropriate PLC diagnostic digital input channel.
Best regards.
Tyler
